There are so many Christmas Movies you can check out this festive season. Amongst these Movies is A Christmas Story which was directed by Bob Clark. It is based on Jean Shepherds Semi Fictional narrative in his book God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash and elements from his book Wanda Hickeys Night of Golden Memories And Other Disasters. A Christmas Story Plot Summary
Furthermore, A Christmas Story tells a story about a nine-year-old boy by the name Ralphie Parker who has been waiting the whole year for Christmas to get just one gift from Santa. He didn’t want a red Fire truck like most of the boys in his age range but instead, he wanted a Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200 Shot Range Model Air Rifle for Christmas. His request was, however, rejected by his mother, his teacher Miss Shields, and Santa Claus at Higbee’s Department Store. They all warned him by saying “You’ll shoot your eye out.
Finally, Christmas arrived and he got a lot of presents but he was however disappointed that he didn’t get the B.B Gun which he wanted most. After opening all his Christmas Gifts, Ralphie Parker Dad then pointed out another gift that was hidden behind the desk. Little Ralphie opens the gift and is excited to discover the B.B Gun which he has always dreamed of.
Immediately, the boy rushed outside with the Gun to try it out. However, his first shot ricochets back and hits him in the eye but thanks to his glasses which protected him. While searching for his glasses and also thinking that he had indeed shot his eyes out, he steps on his glasses and crushes them. Ralphie’s mother then asked him about his glasses but he tricked her by making up a cover story, she believed him. He went to bed that night with his gun by his side. Adult Ralphie Parker narrates that this was the best Christmas Gift he ever received.
