What is the Storyline of the Righteous Gemstones?
The Righteous Gemstones is about a family consisting of televangelists and pastors in charge of megachurches being led by the widowed Eli and his three children, Judy, Kelvin, and Jesse. Things change when two disguised individuals threaten and blackmail Jesse. He was to provide a sum of $1 million within a week. Failure to comply will result in the uploading of a video of him and his friends at the party.
Jesse had a feeling that Rev. John Wesley Seasons had some involvement in it, so that night, Jesse and his gang invaded Rev. Jon Weasley’s house. Their plan falls through when John Weasley shows up with a shotgun and shoots at one of Jesse’s men, wounding him and forcing them to leave. Jesse had to tell Judy and Kelvin about the blackmail, so they decided to help him.
Meanwhile, Judy helps Jesse with the money, which she hid inside their church. Jesse pressures one of the blackmailers to get down from the car and collect the money from him. Jesse uses the opportunity to ambush the blackmailer. This forces the driver of the van to shoot at him. And then, the Gemstones leave the scene after running over the blackmailer.

A third unidentified person was shown to be present in the van and happened to be the mastermind behind the plan. He takes his wounded members whose names are Lucy and Scotty to the hospital before they moved to the hotel.
When the gemstones found out there was a CCTV camera also present at the scene, they decided to steal it. They were also able to track the blackmailers, but they had already left before they realized it. The wife of Chad, Jesse’s friend, finds out distressing and awkward emails between Jesse and her husband.
Jesse is told to give the Easter sermon and have Billy and Judy perform while Gideon makes plans to rob the church. Billy and Tiffany’s car got stuck when they tried to escape from one of the blackmailers, who was knocked unconscious. Scotty eventually robbed the bank and he leaves Gideon and Jesse tied up in the vault.
In episode 9, The Righteous Gemstone Kids tell Eli everything. Eli appoints Rev. Wesley to take up Billy’s post while Billy becomes an evangelist; Amber kicked Jesse out of the house. He goes to Haiti to join his son on his mission trip. Indeed, the Righteous Gemstones is an interesting movie to watch.
