The academic staff union of the university is a pillar for every academic staff in the university, so each university has more or less a local union of academic staff which is also known as the “University’s Chapter of ASUU”. These different chapters can exist on their own (independently), but they are all together to become the National Body- ASUU. Both Federal and state universities are under ASUU.

Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba

Prince Abubakar Audu University (Kogi state university Anyigba), is a state-owned institution that separates itself from ASUU. In the year 2017, the decision was made due to a strike, and now the institution is independent of ASUU.

Ekiti State University

Ekiti state university, a prestigious state-owned institution, is presently not under ASUU. The university gives a demonstration of its dedication by commencing activities even when ASUU is on strike. Focusing its mind on non-membership status with the organization.

Rivers State University
